Against the Grain completed this two-bedroom, two-bathroom new build on a restricted block in the village of Leura. Constructed from reclaimed brick & weatherboard, this meticulous cottage was completed to the highest standard with details such as grey ironbark floors, timber lining boards under eaves and bespoke timber balustrading. The level of detail and finishes reflects the client’s intent to offer the property as short-term luxury accommodation.

Against the Grain’s custom doors and double-glazed windows feature throughout in lightly stained New Guinea Rosewood. Highlights of the monochrome interiors include custom timber joinery and stunning terrazzo floors in both bathrooms. Skylights throughout the living & dining spaces create a light-filled space connected to the rear, covered courtyard and garden via bi-fold doors.
