Heritage Restoration Renovation & Extension

Against the Grain Building & Renovating completed a full restoration and

extension of this grand Victorian home (c1890) in 2015. The property was acquired by new owners in 2022 and we were subsequently engaged for further works.

 

The 2015 scope addressed every element of the five-bedroom heritage

listed home including flooring, decorative architectural elements and grand

staircase. The extension involved the construction of a substantial glass-roofed

conservatory.

 

All windows, internal and entry doors were exactly matched to originals and

manufactured in our Katoomba factory. Crafted using traditional techniques,

each unit incorporates double glazing. French polished solid Australian Red

Cedar features throughout including large format cavity sliders and grand

staircase
